Another Way to Make A Shaggy Cloth

I’ve been meaning to try this method out for literally decades now. A ‘push’ from the Net got me restarted.

This method involves a 3-1 twill with a hard warp and soft weft. The cloth is then brushed and the long fibers swirled into curls. This seems to be a Irish style, maybe a more Modern method.

I have a dual coated Shetland fleece to use, tho from the meager descriptions the yarns could have been made from two different fleeces or spinning methods.

Samples will be made with the tog and thiel spun into hard yarns and the soft almost Lopi yarns. The loom will be warped in a 3-1 twill and samples made.

More to follow!
